Food Safety

Training and supervision  are essential legal requirements for all food handlers. Our food safety and hygiene qualifications ensure employees gain an extensive understanding of the importance of food safety and knowledge of the techniques, methodologies and procedures involved. Our learners who complete successfully  food safety courses will also acquire  the necessary confidence and expertise to deliver food safely to customers in any setting.

 

 

Food Safety In Catering (RQF) Level 2

This one day course meets the highest industry standards; it is accredited at Level 2 and is recognised by employers nationally. Certificates are valid for three years, although it is strongly recommend that refresher training is attended every 12 months.

All industries that handle food and beverages (produce, process, prepare and serve etc.) including restaurants, cafes, take-away, fish and chip shops, staff canteens, schools, nurseries, child-minders, care workers, residential workers etc. 


Who is the course for?

Anyone with an interest in food safety; anyone who works / wants to work in an environment where food is handled.


Aims:

To introduce learners to relevant legislation and safe working practices, and to enable candidates to work safely and effectively within a food preparation environment.

Expected Learning Outcome:

Candidates will gain accredited certification to demonstrate they are competent to work within a food preparation environment.

Assessment:

Candidates will be assessed by the tutor throughout the day via verbal questioning.  A final assessment will take the form of a written examination comprising multiple choice questions. 

Examination papers are externally marked by HABC assessors, therefore certificates can take between 2 - 4 weeks to be processed and sent out to delegates.
